Gorman Houston is a transformational leader with extensive communication, human-relations, management, and team-building skills. gorman houstonSome of his most notable projects include the rebranding of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, where he developed, wrote, managed and oversaw production of major marketing campaign to create broad positive awareness of the church in the community. He also transformed and revitalized organizations and churches from extended periods of decline to protracted periods of renewal, expansion, and growth in membership, attendance, involvement, and financial strength, during tenures as Sr. Minister. In addition to his transformation efforts, he structured the organization of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church from a passive Board-Oversight model to an active Team-Based model as well as implemented successful capital and operational financial campaigns in a variety of settings.

Gorman has served as Chairperson of Capital Fund Campaign for Blue Lake United Methodist Camp, raising $3 million in gifts and pledges, one of the 15 members of the United Methodist Central Conference Pension Initiative, which raised $20 million in gifts and pledges across the denomination to fund pensions for clergy outside the United States, the Chairperson of the Capital Campaign to establish a YMCA in Greenville, Alabama. He led as Senior Pastor Capital Campaigns in the Dauphin Way, Prattville (First), Greenville (First), and Loxley United Methodist Churches. He served as Chairperson of the Capital Fund Drive to build an inter-faith chapel at the Mobile Metro Jail, expanded General Fund Budgets (by an average of 50%) in the Dauphin Way, Prattville (First), Greenville (First), and Loxley United Methodist Churches and implemented Major Physical Plant Renovation and Expansion Projects. Gorman has restored, renovated, and expanded the facilities of the Dauphin Way, Prattville (First), Greenville (First), and Loxley United Methodist Churches, actively working with architects, contractors, church staff, building committee members, historic neighborhood associations, fund-raising teams, and the congregations to achieve all objectives within budgets.
